Tom O’Gorman has been hooked on motorsports since he was in diapers, spectating races at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He was introduced to the sport of autocross at the age of 14, and at 15, he began competing with his temporary driving permit and began competing at the national level at the age of 16, winning his first even national event against top-level competitors – the first of many.

O’Gorman used autocross to gain experience across every platform of vehicle, winning numerous national events in SCCA National competition, including 3 National Championships, and was name the SCCA Solo Driver of the Year in 2013.

In 2012, O’Gorman claimed victory in an indoor karting competition, qualifying him to compete in the Kart World Championships in Essen, Germany – the world’s top indoor karting competition. He competed amongst the world’s top kart drivers and earned multiple Top 3 and Top 5 finishes over 7 days of competition.

In 2014, O’Gorman made a splash with his debut in road racing with the SCCA after years of success in autocross and karting competition – he won his first race, qualifying on pole for both races that weekend, and nearly setting a new track record along the way. O’Gorman continued to dominate that season, earning 8 victories in 9 races including the American Road Race of Champions, a track record at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and was named Rookie of the Year for the Ohio Valley Region SCCA.

Professionally, O’Gorman began his instructing career at a young age, first with Evolution Performance Driving School, becoming the school’s youngest instructor in it’s 20-year history at the age of 18. O’Gorman continued to instruct various racing, autocross, and car control programs until, in 2014, he became a full-time performance driving instructor, working for programs such as SCCA Track Night in America, SCCA Starting Line schools, and the SRT/Abarth Track Experiences.
